While dealing with a very painful nerve injury that ultimately led to surgery, I used the x-rays taken of my foot as a base and structure for exploring the intense, electric pain I was feeling. These were all painted digitally in ProCreate on an iPad – a digital medium that allows me to use my own rough brushes and hand-drawn data elements that represent numbers, days, and letters.
